Phototime Tuesday - Action

Ready for Action
This sculpture in the middle of Ealing Broadway always attracts loads of kids. The boy crouching down is hiding from his brother who is on the far side, (you can just see a swatch of his red top). Seconds later he pounced out.

Really cute shot!!! Mon 23-Aug-2004 03:27

The Carousel

The Carousel
The Gallopers
Steam Engine
View all 8 photos...
Most funfairs still have an old carousel in them. This is one of the original Victorian ones but although it still has it's steam engine aboard it is now driven by electric.

reminds me of salinger's the catcher in the rye. great shots! Tue 3-Aug-2004 04:18

Great pictures of Downs' Gallopers

However, the steam centre engine works! It is true this ride CAN be driven by electricity, but it is quite often driven by steam as it was originally...

Fungi

Walking through a wood the other day I spotted these three forms of fungi. I thought it would make a change to photo these instead of flowers.

nr 1 is very impressive and imaginative with those spongy threads -- thank you for taking us with you Sat 31-Jul-2004 11:58

Phototime Tuesday - Distant

For all the clever imagery of TV beaming pictures across the globe to a screen in your home, can anything really compare to the beauty of a sunset on a natural screen that covers miles wide from a signal sent 93,000,000 miles to get here.

(Not the most spectacular sunset ever seen on Fotopages, but in London we don't see that many and it's rare to even see this expanse of sky without a skyscraper or tower block getting in the way.)
